These keto breakfast tacos are low in net carbs and high in flavor, and they make the perfect easy low-carb breakfast. 

I want to emphasize that this recipe is low carb instead of keto because most store-bought keto tortillas are very high in carbs. You can lower the carbs by making your own keto tortillas. 

These bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos are simple and straightforward. Use your favorite keto tortillas and stuff them with breakfast items like bacon, scrambled eggs, and shredded cheese.

Finish the breakfast tacos with various low-carb toppings like low-carb salsa, sour cream or crema, and freshly chopped cilantro.

  • Eggs – Whole large eggs.
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Monterey Jack – Shredded.
  • Cheddar – Shredded.
  • Toppings – Salsa, avocado, cilantro, crema or sour cream.

HOW TO MAKE LOW-CARB BREAKFAST TACOS

  1. Cook the bacon.
  2. Whip the eggs and heavy cream with some salt and pepper. 
  3. Scramble the egg mixture in a low skillet on low heat with some butter, stirring often.
  4. Warm the tortillas. 
  5. Fill the warmed tortillas with scrambled eggs, bacon, and shredded cheese. 
  6. Top the tortillas with your favorite toppings. 
  7. Serve the tacos, and enjoy!

BREAKFAST TACOS VS BREAKFAST BURRITOS – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? 

Breakfast tacos are usually made with a small round tortilla, and the tortilla is folded in half over the filling. A breakfast burrito is made with a large tortilla, and it is stuffed with a variety of ingredients like breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, chopped tomatoes, rice & beans (if you are not low carb), and lettuce. The tortilla for a breakfast burrito is folded in a way to make it round like a cylinder. 

HOW TO TOP YOUR LOW-CARB BREAKFAST TACOS 

Top your low-carb breakfast tacos with your favorite toppings. I suggest using keto toppings like salsa, avocado, cilantro, sour cream, or crema. Make sure to use low-carb salsa because sometimes sugar is hiding in the ingredients. Always use fresh cilantro instead of dried; fresh cilantro adds a special finishing touch.

  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 3/4 cups Monterey Jack cheese shredded

    This had just the right dash of hot sauce! The eggs were perfectly creamy and I have to say that I loved the salty-creamy-spicy balance of the dish. Is there a particular brand of low carb tortillas you recommend? I buy mine (made from almond flour) at costco but they’re not the best…

    My daughter came home from uni for the weekend and made these for her breakfast. All her siblings pretty much jumped out of bed at the smell of bacon cooking and she got a taste of what it would be like to be. short order cook 😉
    Making them for 3 brothers and a sister and then herself.

    They all loved them and the recipe is now printed out and on our fridge!
