Korean Beef Bowl

With crazy good flavors, a touch of sweetness, and plenty of big beefiness, this Korean Beef Bowl recipe is a keto dinner recipe keeper! Plus, did I mention it can be on the table in about 20 minutes?

I’m in love with this Korean ground beef bowl and not just because it’s on the table in a jiffy. I love the versatility of it – I can serve it with cauliflower rice for myself, and regular rice for the rest of the family.

Plus, it’s a nice departure from cheese and bacon. Not all keto recipes have to have cheese and bacon in them! Hungry? Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients to Make This Korean Beef Bowl Recipe

  • Ground beef
  • Yellow onion
  • Carrot (skip if you’re doing strict keto)
  • Garlic
  • Fresh ginger
  • Green onion
  • Coconut aminos (or soy sauce if you don’t mind a few extra carbs)
  • So Nourished brown sugar substitute (or your favorite brand)
  • Sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

How To make This Easy Keto Dinner Recipe

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Remove the beef and drain the fat.
  2. Heat the sesame oil in the skillet over medium heat and add the onion, garlic, carrot, and ginger. Sautee for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the beef to the veggies in the skillet.
  4. Add the So Nourished brown sugar substitute and coconut aminos. Combine well. Season with salt and pepper and serve with chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top.

Chef Jenn’s Tips

  • Add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes when cooking the beef to add a hit of spice, or pass the Sriracha!
  • Add other veggies like sliced red or green bell peppers, zucchini, or any of your favorites.
  • Topping it with sliced green onion and sesame seeds adds a lovely pop of color.
  • Skip the onion and carrot if you’re doing strict keto.
  • Beef is a great source of protein, but you can make this dish with pork, chicken or even turkey if you prefer.
  • Use regular cooking oil if you don’t have sesame oil, but sesame oil adds a distinctive flavor to the dish.

What To Serve With Korean Beef Bowls

Cauliflower rice is the perfect side with this dish, but I also love adding even more veggies to the meal like with a salad topped with Ranch Dressing, or even just air-fried broccoli.

Is This Keto Beef Recipe Freezer Friendly?

Yes! In fact this is one of my favorite recipes for meal prepping.

When I make it, I make a double batch. Then, I simply wrap up portions of it in an air-tight freezer safe container and freeze for up to three months.

Then, I thaw it and heat it up for lunch or dinner. Tasty and quick!

Are Korean Beef Bowls keto?

Made this way, they sure are! There’s only XX net carbs per serving, and if you’re doing strict keto just omit the carrot and onion.

What kind of beef do you use to make Korean beef bowls?

I use lean ground beef but you could use any quality cut of beef that you dice up small.

What veggies go into a Korean beef bowl?

Carrots, onions, zucchini, celery…you can add any of your favorite veggies!

This looks absolutely delicious! I might substitute some tofu for the beef to make it vegan but all of these flavors are so classic, can’t wait to try it!
