- 1 lb ground beef lean
- 1 cup carrot sliced thinly
- 1/4 cup yellow onion sliced thinly
- 1 clove garlic minced fine
- 1 tablespoon ginger minced fine
- 2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons coconut aminos or soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons So Nourished brown sugar substitute
- 2 green onions sliced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds optional
Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium high heat. Drain the fat and discard, and remove the beef and set aside.
Heat the sesame oil over medium high heat and add the carrot, ginger, onions, and garlic. Sautee for about 3 minutes or until the onions are soft and the carrots are tender-crisp.
Add the drained beef back to the pan and mix well with the veggies.
Add the coconut aminos (or soy sauce) and So Nourished brown sugar substitute and mix well. Heat over medium heat.
Season with salt if needed and serve with chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top. Enjoy!
Recipe Card Tips
- Brown the beef and set it aside before starting the vegetables, rather than cooking everything together.
- Use sesame oil if you have it, it gives this dish a genuinely distinctive flavor.
- Skip the onion and carrot for strict keto, or add bell pepper or zucchini to build it out further.
