Keto Tartar Sauce

Jazz up fish night with this super creamy and flavorful keto Tartar Sauce! This is such a quick, easy, and flavorful recipe, you won’t even care that it’s keto!

Store-bought tartar sauces are, for the most part, nasty. They’re gloopy flavorless sauces loaded with sugar and that do nothing for the fish. A good tartar sauce, on the other hand, should be flavorful and bring out the flavors of the fish. That’s what this keto Tartar Sauce is all about!

Tangy, lightly sweetened, and filled with herbs and oodles of flavor, this homemade tartar sauce is amazing with all kinds of fish and seafood! The best part is it is super easy to make, and the flavors just get better as it sits.

What Is Tartar Sauce?

Tartar sauce is originally from France and is a mayonnaise-based condiment that’s designed to accompany fish and seafood. Made from scratch, tartar sauce is flavorful, bright, creamy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. Store-bought tartar sauce is gloopy, sugary, flavorless stuff you squeeze out of a bottle. Trust me, my friend, make it from scratch.

Ingredients

There are no funny ingredients in keto Tartar Sauce, and you can mix up the herbs to suit your own tastes! See my suggestions below.

  • Mayonnaise – Make your own mayonnaise or use a good store-bought keto mayo.
  • Dill pickles – Finely chopped.
  • White sugar substitute – Or skip the sweetner entirely.
  • Pickle juice – There’s crazy flavor in pickle juice so save it!
  • Lemon juice – From a fresh lemon.
  • Dijon mustard – Just wee bit.
  • Worcestershire sauce – Dig that bottle out from the back of the fridge! It’s essential in this recipe.
  • Parsley – Fresh parsley, finely chopped.
  • Dill – Fresh dill, finely chopped.
  • Salt and white pepper – White pepper won’t leave ugly black flecks in your sauce.

  • Sugar substitute is optional and unless you like it sweet, not needed at all!
