Keto Ranch Dressing (Just Shake It Together in a Jar)

Finding a good keto ranch dressing at the store can be genuinely hard, between hidden carbs, questionable ingredients, and a real premium on price. Keto ranch dressing made at home skips all of that with a handful of ingredients you probably already have.

This is about as simple as a recipe gets. Combine everything in a jar, shake it up, and dinner has a dressing.

This keeps well in the fridge for about a week, use it as a dip, a sauce, or even a marinade.

Chef Jenn’s Take on Ranch Dressing

This version is deliberately herb-forward rather than a traditional garlic-onion-chive ranch, a reader once pointed that out, and that is correct, this recipe leans on dill and parsley instead. Add a touch of garlic powder if you want it closer to a traditional ranch flavor, it will not add much to the carb count.

The technique here is genuinely just combining everything in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shaking well. Greek yogurt works as a substitute for the sour cream if that is what you have. If it comes out thicker than you would like, thin it with a bit of heavy cream, almond milk, or water.

One thing worth clarifying on storage, this varies a bit depending on how fresh your dairy was to start. Some notes say it keeps for up to two weeks, though closer to 5 days to a week is more realistic for most fridges, worth confirming which figure you want to stand behind.

Try a Cajun version with Cajun seasoning, a Southwestern version with chipotle powder, or a jalapeno version with finely chopped jalapeno. This works as a dip, a sauce, or a marinade.

    • Hi! Anything with fresh dairy in it will keep for up to a week in your fridge. If your dairy is super-fresh, you may squeeze another day out it but I wouldn’t go much past that! Enjoy!

    • Hi there! Keto Ranch Dressing will be fine in your fridge for about 5 days – you can squeeze an extra day or two out of that if your dairy is super duper fresh. Hope that helps! ~Jenn

I love this recipe. So delicious. I substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream just because that’s what I usually have on hand. Fabulous.

Doubled this for a pint mason jar!
Needed more flavor and less water….I added1/4 tsp granulated garlic, more salt to taste and started with 1/4 water and added to consistency i liked!

    • Not this version – it’s herb-forward. You could add a touch of garlic powder without adding much to the carb count. ~Jenn
