Chef Jenn’s Take on Air Fryer Burgers
Resist the temptation to buy lean ground beef, fat is genuinely your friend here. An 80/20 blend gives you enough fat for real flavor without it oozing everywhere as it cooks.
Form 4 equal patties and press your thumb into the middle of each one to create an indent, that keeps them from puffing up too much in the center. Do not overmix the beef, just enough to work the spices through evenly. Air fry at 360 degrees for 6 minutes, flip, then cook another 2 to 3 minutes to your desired doneness. Top with cheese and pop it back in for 30 seconds to melt, if you want. Preheat the air fryer and follow your manufacturer’s directions, and do not overcrowd the basket, give each patty room.
This recipe also works great for just one person. Divide the mixture into 4 sections, freeze 3 of them, and thaw and cook one at a time whenever the craving hits.
Fresh beef tastes a bit better than frozen and thawed, though frozen works fine in a pinch. The beef itself runs genuinely 0 net carbs, toppings are what add to the count.

Air fry at 360-F for about 6 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Top with cheese and your favorite veggies and condiments.

These freeze wonderfully. Wrap the chilled, cooked burgers tightly in plastic, then freeze for up to 3 months. In the fridge, they keep for about 5 days in an airtight container.
