Big flavor from a handful of ingredients is not always easy to pull off, but this one manages it. Keto creamy jalapeno dip is inspired by a dip served at a Tex-Mex restaurant chain in the South, close enough that I consider this a real copycat.

This works on tortilla chips, veggie sticks, grilled meat, Tex-Mex dishes, or even as a salad dressing. It genuinely goes on almost everything.
One reader tallied the total cost at just two or three dollars for the whole batch, which is hard to beat.

Chef Jenn’s Take on Creamy Jalapeno Dip
Leaving the jalapeno seeds in is the easiest way to throw this off, and not just for heat. The seeds do not puree nicely, so pulling them out first keeps the texture smooth instead of gritty.
Wash the cilantro and pull off the thick stems before it goes in, then pulse everything together in a food processor or blender until fully smooth. If you do not have a ranch seasoning packet on hand, two tablespoons of a keto-friendly bottled ranch dressing works as a substitute.
This dip gets stronger in flavor the longer it sits. If you have the time, chill it overnight before serving for the best result, though it is still good made fresh the same day.
Want more heat? Swap in a fresh serrano pepper for the jalapeno. A little fresh garlic adds more depth too, if you want to build on the base recipe. One reader mentioned this keeps for 4 to 5 days in the fridge depending on how fresh the sour cream was to start, and that it gets noticeably spicier with each passing day.

Make It A Meal
For a bigger appetizer spread, add Crab Rangoon Dip or Cajun Shrimp Dip to the table. For more Tex-Mex flavor, Chicken Taco Casserole is a natural pairing on the same menu.

Storage
This does not freeze well, sour cream separates badly once thawed. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 to 5 days, depending on how fresh the sour cream was to start. It gets spicier the longer it sits.

I made this today and it is the best dip ever!! It is soooo good on celery! I eat celery all the time and have been looking for some type of dip! Not to mention, the total cost to make it is $2-$3 max! I feel like I won the snack lottery!
So glad you liked it! It’s a big hit in my house, too!
I have never been a fan of cilantro, but love jalapenos. I made it and used it for dip. It is so fresh and light tasting! I had some left and put it on air fried pork chops the next day. Wonderful!
Sooo good!!!! Whipped this up in maybe 5 minutes and it is a 10/10. Of course after I made it I see the chef notes about the Serrano pepper! Will definitely be making this on the regular. Bonus it’s healthy!!
I do have one question though, how long does this store in the fridge in container?
I’m so glad you loved it! Depending on how fresh your dairy is, it’ll keep for 4-5 days easily. Just watch – it’ll get spicier as it sits! Yum! ~Jenn
